Your lies are breaking my heart
Your backstabbing, back-tracking, trash talking ways
Screaming for attention in a silent manipulation
Candy coated strychnine words

Venom is dripping
From poisonous lips
And I can't cover my ears
and I feel like a pawn
as I try to run
From you as you play your games

There's bile in my throat
When you slander my name
Simply for telling the truth
And this anger that burns
in the pit of my stomach
As you slip from the deceiver's noose

Your tongue has corrupted you
your person, your life
Is itself set on fire by hell
what a wicked weapon
you wield against me
one you conceal so well

And I can't be your hero
As you kill yourself
Drowning in seas of your lies
And your untamed tongue
is choking you still
It breaks my heart when you lie

Wrote this awhile ago about someone and how lies do so much damage including to the person telling them. I posted it b/c for about the last two months someone has been falsely accusing me of lying, and about the stupidest thing and . . . I just thought it was ironic (?) that they would think I'm lying when I feel strongly enough about it to write a bloody poem! Those of you familiar with the Bible should be able to see I pulled a large portion of my inspiration from there too . . .

Finding someone worth a lie
A dozen worth a penny
Finding someone worth the truth
Rare if there are any

Don't ask me what you call that, some spontaneous writing I guess, whatever that is :D

The sweetest poison in all the world
Is "I Love You" from a liar

A liar such as you have I never met
Or crueller being have I loved

With drunken abandon I lived in your words
My heart, my soul became yours

With honeyed deception my weakness you found
It was you, my Achilles Heel

Every word, every gesture was seducing to me
Misleading me, lying to me

Behind your blue eyes, temptation lies
Be careful he's only a tease

A poem of seduction was spoken through me
And I gave it all to you

The sweetest poison in all the world
Was you and I ate every word.

You lied to me
You pretended
My cracked heart leaking trust
My jaded mind hid from my eyes

You were always leaving
Even when you would still be here
No matter how long you were staying
Really, you were always still leaving

Leaving me.
No. You never saw yourself as here to me.

It was always someone else.
As usual I'm just
second best
good enough
-your temporary fix

I'm like that imitation Obsession
That never satisfies
and spawns its own
rejection
Imitation obsession
And now you spit me out

Sooty remnants of
'unbreachable' defenses
mock me.

I hide my screaming heart.
I smother it.
This time your sadistic heart won't quicken
as it hears each little scream.
