View Full Version : What do you HATE

Like most people, I hate a lot of things. One of the worst things about hating something is not getting to say it. So, I'm starting this thread to ask you all to tell us what you hate. Who knows, you might even find someone with similar views to yourself or this could even start some kind of debate. Like I said, who knows.
Tell us what you hate, and, if you like, tell us why you hate it. Release your stress, just as long as you obey the forum rules; no swearing, racism etc.

Don't hate nothing at all - except hatred
That said, I really really really really REALLY dislike people who don't know how subway escalators work. You know the ones: they stand perfectly still in the middle so no one can get past on either side, and just as you reach the bottom and you see the train pull in and think you might make it if you run, the guy in front of you steps off the escalator and just STOPS a 1/2 inch from the end of it, blissfully unaware that he is blocking the way for everyone behind him...
I think these are the same people who park their shopping carts right across the most crowded aisles in supermarkets and then get upset when you roll it out of the way. I'm not fond of them either.

People who don't know how to park :rage: It's so frustrating! They take up two spaces so you can't park at all or you have to squeeze into a tiny little gap that you can't possibly get out of again.
On the subject of parking.
I also hate people that park in our street, when they live in the street next to us. WHAT'S THE POINT!!!!! :rage: And then, when they see you, they act all friendly and smug, as if to say, "hey, I parked outside your house. What are you going to do about it."

I hate those people who you make an effort to be nice to, and you force a smile when they piss you off, but then they say to you one day, “Gosh, why do you always [insert something stupid, like you tap your foot when you think or slurp your soup]! It’s so annoying. I don’t know how I stand you sometimes.” It just makes me blow (internally of course, expressing anger takes up too much energy, rather hold a long grudge). How the **** do they think I stand them???!!!
I hate those people who think they’re the best at everything. When something goes wrong, they blame it on you. When they’re in a bad group for a project, you’re the one who gets to hear their long rants on why their idea is better, or why they did the most work, or why they have it harder than you do.

I hate change too. But, I've learned that, sometimes, change is good. And, even if it isn't, it has to happen, there's nothing I or anyone else can do about it. And, I keep forgetting to write in my diary as well, but I fill it in a few days later, as if I had filled it on the day.

So I am driving home from the store yesterday and come to the end of the street and the stop sign. Naturally, I want to stop, because that is the thing to do. But no, no I can't. Two cars are just parked there, in the road, in front of the stop sign. In the middle of the road! Engines running, radios blaring and there are like, 7 people just standing there, gabbing away. You know, I don't find the street such a great place for a chat, but maybe I am just weird that way. Just so freaking annoyed at that type of behavior! :(

I don't like to say hate (today) but I don't like people who remain unaware. Unawareness Is not the end of the world, but when people do everything they can to remain unaware - that...actually...yeah, I do hate that actually. A poem just occured to me that sums it up:
Be kind
we are always asked
to understand the other person's
viewpoint
no matter how
out-dated
foolish or
obnoxious.
one is asked
to view
their total error
their life-waste
with
kindliness,
especially if they are
aged.
but age is the total of
our doing.
they have aged
badly
because they have
lived
out of focus,
they have refused to
see.
not their fault?
whose fault?
mine?
I am asked to hide
my viewpoint
from them
for fear of their
fear.
age is no crime
but the shame
of a deliberately
wasted
life
among so many
deliberately
wasted
lives
is.

Thank you rachel, you "sound" (if I may copy you...) very sweet and kind. I must agree with you and say I also hate unkindness, bigotry, cruelty and selfishness. Live forever? It depends in what way. If you mean never age and watch every one that I love die around me then no. However, if you mean live forever as in live forever in peoples hearts and memories then sure.
The former is no doubt what you were actually thinking of, but I liked the idea of including the latter.
I hate change too, and sometimes it bugs me that I can't get that time back. Like in the summer holidays, I say to myself, 'hey, let's try and finish one of those stories you have lying around the house'. When it comes to the end of the holiday, I've only written a page or two at the most and it's so frustrating. All that time I could have spent doing something worth while and I just lazed around, slept in and did nothing.

I also hate people who interrupt my sleep w/o my permission... I tend to lash out at those people because my tongue is tipped with icy venom.. and my eyes can glare like the best of 'em...
I also hate people who make fun of my family and or friends.. They are the ones I pardon for a time but a repeat will cost them their dignity and their heads...

Agreed, I hate that as well. I also hate people who are rude, just for the sake of rudeness. A friend of mine was visiting a city recently( I won't say where) and she was out on the sidewalk, waiting for her sister. It was crowded, and this young couple walk by and the guy says to the girl "There might be more room if fat a*s would move out of the way" . I hate headaches. I hate headaches that creep into your every day life - the quiet reminders of pain infiltrating into things you find filled with joyless, and I hate headaches that are uncalled for, unreasoned. I hate headaches which seem to have no reason for existing, thus making them even worse. I hate how the more aware you become of it, the more you desire to fill the void and stop the pain.

Ok, now that I've calmed down a bit (and the computers running better) I'll get back to what I started on about........
I'm tweeked at my boss. I was hired as a dog groomer and was told that my income would depend on how many dogs I could groom in a day. 'Cool' I thought. It may take a month or so, but I'll get my speed up and maybe, just maybe I could make about 200. a week - Awsome- (yeah right) For some reason that just wasen't happening and for the past week I have been paying attention to the sort of dogs assinged to each groomer. (sorry for the quality, seems i'm still more tweeked that I thought)
anyway........when grooming you have what my boss likes to call "money Dogs", such as labs and other shorthair pups that only take about half hour to groom and you make $20 for your effort. the other two groomers would average about four or five of these each day. I've been with that shop for a few months and have yet to get one.
The only dogs that I have been assinged have been the matted or elderly or ill, dogs.
They can take two or three hours each and I make a whopping $12.50 per doggie no matter how long it takes.
I confronted my boss about it and explained to her that it's not fair for the other girls to take home over a hundred each day from grooming easy dogs and I if I'm lucky, go home with $25 or $37.50.
The other two groomer overheard the conversation, and one of them butted in and said " We're here to make money, your here to do the ones we don't want"
!!!!!!!!! ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! How Rude!
This was never said to me when I was hired. Piss me off.

I work in a warehouse pulling orders. When our new boss started, she asked me how many orders I could fill in one day. I told her it depended on the size of the orders. She wasn't interested in that; she wanted to assign a numerical amount of acceptability for daily work. So that she could know that I wasn't slacking off. As though order-filling is the same as working on an assembly line. Quotas, timeliness, etc. This is what ALL work is about in America today; the corporate attitude.

Every manager worth his salt knows that an attitude like this is worth nothing in the end, there is more than one way to motivate employees, but insisting on certain quotas is not the right way, it should be a challenge for the employee, not some impossible demand. That'll only lower the quality and quantity of the work, and cost a company more in the end.

So many times I have thought of making calls, but I think I have some kind of a phobia, I am forever thinking what if they are busy, what if they seem disinterested while talking to me...what if's are so many that the only solution that I have is to wait for calls, and wish that atleast someone calls up.....(these thoughts come even for people I am close to, dont know why)........
And I would not want someone to return my call just because I have called them many times. I would be very happy if they call me because they really want to talk to me, rather than returning my call as a favour to me.

I hated it when I was working in the public and people called me "miss." I also hate when the 19 year old cable boys come over to hook up the cable and call me "ma'am." I am not yet a "ma'am" and I don't want to be called ma'am even when I am 60 and wrinkled. The word ma'am implies that the person being addressed as ma'am is old and decripit and I would rather be address as lady... Ma'am is a terrible world.
And about flushing the toilet... I hate when people don't flush. But, if the public restroom is dirty or if the toilet won't flush, then I hate that even more. And it is never acceptable to flush a public pot with your hand. Use your foot to flush (provided you are actually wearing shoes though I don't know why anyone wouldn't wear shoes in a public bathroom) I hate sprinkles on the seat, bad venilation, no soap or paper towels or broken hand dryer and high pressure water spouts. I hate public restrooms and I wish they would sell purse-size Lysol.

Haha. I get to deal with all those things at once in the lovely land of highschool bathrooms. And then, there's the one stall the you're not allowed to use, not that you'd want to, because it is directly across from the mirror. This toilet is strictly for standing on, so that one can make sure that one's kilt is sufficiently short and that it's not obvious (yeah right) that it has been rolled four times to make it that short. The wonders of teenage girls in a uniform school...

I hate the way you talk to me,
and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car,
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots
and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick,
it even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you are always right,
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh,
even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it when you are not around,
and the fact that you didn't call.
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you,
not even close¦
not even a little bit¦
not even at all.
I hate that boy who has broken my heart and dreams yet I still care for him.

I had to wear a plaid kilt in high school also, and we did the same thing! I remember seeing girls standing on the toilet making sure the skirt was hanging the right way. We would wear boxers under ours so as not to flash our underwear (except for those that didn't wear the boxers and the whole point of that was to flash the underwear...)
I remember some girl strutting down the hall and her skirt was really short and some loud mouth yells, "I can see your butt cheeks!" Finally, the administration had to get the yard stick out and measure the lengths and demerits were issued for skirts that were too short.
I am so glad those days our over sometimes. But sometimes I wish I could go back knowing all I know now.
I aslo hate when women who are older than me call me dear in that condescending tone of voice. That ticks me off so much.

Haha. Most girls wear bike-type spandex shorts under their kilts, and now their maing them like "skorts"- they have built in shorts, but there are some who still manage to get away with wearing nothing much underneith. I once has a girl bend over right in front of me who was wearing nothing but a thong underneith her disgustingly-short kilt. I thought it was the apocalypse.

The things I hate could be a book, but here are a few. I hate:
1. Stupid people
2. Mean People
3. People in my class that take parts from everyone else's assignment to write their own!
4. Kids that are mean
5. Parents who raise mean children
6. Rainy Washington winters
7. Washington summers that have yet to really arrive
8. Seeing underage kids who smoke (I did and it was retarded. I hate to see others do it. Especially since I quit)
9. Recepies that don't taste as good as they sound
10. The sound of whining
11. Crying babies (it makes me feel ill especially when they're my own. I figure there is likely a good reason for this)
12. Watching my best friend ruin her life
13. Watching my sister do the same
14. Not being closer to my family, who are one of my main supports in this world. Soon to be remedied, though. We move back to Ohio in under a year :)
15. Junk mail
16. Calls about consolidating my student loans only to be told I'm not eligable. Don't they check that sort of thing before picking up the phone:flare:
17. Feeling helpless
18. Crying, when it is me
19. Being angry at the world when I can't seem to help it
20. Always feeling like time is speeding by and I'm missing so much
21. Parents that kill their kids through lack of common sense. We had a woman here who killed her four month old daughter by taping a pacifier to her mouth so it wouldn't fall out.
22. Computers that don't work right.
23. Computer techs that know nothing more than I do
24. People who can't drive
25. Kids who think they get a pass on everything because their dad is high ranking in the military.
26. Wives who think they are better than me because their husband outranks mine.
27. Anyone who assumes I know nothing about life because I'm so young (this I get a lot)
I could go on, but these are the ones on the brain at the moment. The sad part is this is only about a list of things I find I hate in a 6 hour period. I need to channel this anger and :) more.

I tend to use hate to describe anything that will provoke me into feeling violent. The bad part of have a wicked temper is that I hate a lot of different things. Crying is what I hate the most though. It is a sure way for me to lose all control I have over my temper, especially if someone is witness to it. Any sort of emotional pain tends to make me lash out at anyone near, but at least my nearest a dearest know it is my reaction to the lack of control that crying makes me feel. I will quickly go from one end of the spectrum to another so when anyone sees tears they normally back away.

Hate is one of those words that is not really a bad word, but that we call a bad word. I don't like it, and I really don't like to hear children say it unless it is with sympathy like 'Oh, I really hate that for you' something like that. And, I don't think it's OK to hate someone. I know hate and love are the twain, yet they are basically, if we plumb the source of them they are of course indivisibly one and the same thing, and any seeming duality is an illusion, philosophically speaking of course.
Yet ordinarily in day today realities they are polar opposites. Here I open a question: What you hate most.
I hate people who live arrogantly just because they are rich and look down upon the poor.
I hate people who out of their scholarly dispositions think that they know everything and simple folks do not know anything at all.
I hate to sleep too much.

I hate those hate, for there is nothing to hate and love. All will pass in a while. Why should I do things that are false. fake or counterfeit?
I hate those who complain a lot.
I hate people who like to whine.
Both of you must hate a lot of people then. :D
I hate people who text message in the middle of class. This hatred is especially evident during tests. Two days ago, in English class, the girl sitting next to me pulled out her cell phone and started texting away while I was in the middle of writing an essay! I can't concentrate when all I hear is tick-tick-tick-tick-tick!

I hate it when people spend thousands of dollars on animals (especially dogs). :flare:
Why would animals be less important than human beings?

I hate it when anyone spends that amount of money on anyone, be it human or animal.

Yes, but what I meant was about, for instance, using this amount of money to feed humans or animals. I would make no difference between humans and animals, this was what I meant, because to me, a human life has no more value than an animal one. And if my dog and I were starving, I would share any food I have with him.

I really hate it when people will not acknowledge their faults. I work in a bookstore, and not only were a lot of the books in the biographies ordered in accordance with first name (?!?!) but we caught the rascal putting Harry Potter under H?!
When we confronted him he was all "Nah, it's the cutomers" cuts my heart that he doesn't respect the books there ;)

than maybe you dont understnad the love for an animal you can have...
when you bottle feed an animal from the time it is born and you understand the fact of life is that it would die without your constant care, as in carrying it to walmart, bathroom everything. than no amount of money is too much. i would spend every penny i have to save any of my animals, but often times people get there money back for animals, horses in shows win money, they are expensive but they pay for themselfs, same with dogs, dog shows, breeding, work dogs. if the animal is in pain, and nothing will help it, yes put it down, but if a 6,000$ surgery will save its life and will make it happy and healthy give it the effin surgery!!!

I do understand the love one could have for an animal. Just this past summer, I was given a kitten. It was the only one in its litter that survived. As you can imagine, the kitten was also sick. My Mom and I did everything we could to save the kitten. We had no car and no money. We called the vet. We did everything. I sat there with the kitten for a day and watched it die. It was the most painful thing that I have ever experienced. For the first time in years, I cried. But this was not the point I was trying to make in my post.
What I meant is that I hate those who spend too much money on superfluous accesories for their companions (referring to both humans and animals). Why do people feel the need to spend extravagant amounts of money on their companion to express their love? If their companion had any sense at all, he or she would understand that love without the need for said accesories. Here's a great example (concerning humans): why must a guy buy a diamond ring for his significant other? There are several other more meaningful ways of expressing one's love. For instance, my Father made a ring by himself (he works with metal all the time) for my Mom when they got engaged.
Here's more things I hate:
1. People who make dumb statements. For instance, two girls in my chemistry class said that they wished everyone was equally dumb. :rage:
2. People who feel the need to vocalize their problems with any given subject - especially math - in such a way that it disturbs others. This ties in somewhat with number 1 because they make such claims as "Math is stupid!" If I wasn't so shy (and concentrated on doing my Math homework), I would exclaim at once, "No, you moron(s)! People are stupid! Perhaps you would notice that if you weren't the epitome of stupidity!" :p
3. Perhaps this is taking it a bit too far, but I hate my History teacher. Her monotone voice is only a very small reason for this hatred. Today, after we watched a movie on the reconstruction after the Civil War (the American Civil War, that is), she asked us about the movie. One of my classmates raised his hand and said, "it was boring." Then, my history teacher exploded. She said, "Chris, if you're not going to say anything meaningful, then you can leave now!" (or something to that extent). Since when did people's opinions become meaningless? (This, again, ties in with my first remark.)
There are also more individuals in which I hate, but it appears that I have ranted too much.

It shouldn't arouse rage, when you hear such things, rather be cheerful, since you can laugh at things like that, rather than being angry at their stupidity. ;]

I hate matrices. I hate blankets, skirts, and rugs, and the fact that it takes so many hours to spin, weave and dye each good. I hate the fact that my answer was x = -255, as in I can produce -255 blankets if given so many hours for each spinning weaving and dyeing task for the blankets. My output on the skirts and rugs made sense, but i don't understand how you could come up with a negative output. Does that mean that I screwed up the set up of my matrix, or does it mean that not enough total hours were allotted in the first place? The solutions manual is no help on this one as it is an even numbered problem. Also, I have found many errors in this solutions manual. I was working a problem on the production of bicycles wagons and skooters. I checked the answer key, and the numbers were the same, but they were talking about jackets skirts and blouses. And yes, I made sure I wasn't looking at the wrong problem. And then there was the inverse matrix I had to find. I got the right answer, but in the answer solution, they mixed up the columns and the rows so the answers were all different. I don't know if the bookstore gave me the wrong edition of the solutions manual or if the editors of this book really SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually I agree with you here. You don't have to give expensive gifts to your significant other (or anybody) to show them how much you love them....but sadly many people take the other way to be the only evidence of love.
Here's more things I hate:

My goodness, you would have so many people to hate if you hate those who make dumb statements, even for once. There was this person I knew who used to say, "If there are people I hate, then they are those who so easily start hating other people...for even a little display of stupidity."
I would have to say it too that I hate it (not people certainly, just the occasion) when people tend to use the word 'hatred' for their fellow beings so easily....
