I hate news programs. I can hardly bring myself to watch the news anymore. For every ten mintues of news that I actually care about, I have to sit through 50 mintues of "news" about Lindsey Lohan's latest stint in rehab, Rob Lowe's nanny, and what night clubs Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian were spotted at (As an aside; can anyone give me a good reason why people like the last two are even famous in the first place?) I also hate these "journalists" that grab on to the story about the most recent pretty, blonde-haired girl to go missing, and then focus on nothing other than that story for the next three months. I was flipping through the news channels the other night, and Greta Van Susteren was still talking about that girl that went missing in Aruba THREE YEARS AGO!!! :flare: :flare:

Yeah, forget that they could potentially save your life...

I'll rephrase that, I hate fire alarms when there's nothing wrong and they just go off because of some stupid idiot(s) having a crafty smoke, which has been the case so far :D.

The sound of a "thumping system". Is it really so necessary to have the music in the car so loud that it actually makes a house shake as the car drives by??? Then, what is the point of it in the middle of the night? It isn't like there is going to be anyone outside to "show off" the noise that comes from the car.

A thumping system in a car. One of the perks of summer. God, I hate summer! :bawling:

I hate it when people sniffle rather than blowing their nose when they have a cold.

That can get a bit annoying, especially when they're doing a speech in front of the class, makes it hard to understand them sometimes. But still, I'd rather they sniffle instead of sneezing all over everyone. :p

   I hate football (succer?) and wars.
Why? Well, wars make people suffer and starv.
Football fills too much time and space, and takes too many people´s attention.

I hate the news at 6pm.

I've never really had any love for the news, I don't know why anyone watches it, apart from just for knowing current affairs and discussing it in a week's time with family friends over coffee. It's so boring!

I mean, you could just read a paper. What need is there for the news on the television? It chews up prime-time television that could be devoted to shows like Seinfeld, Black Books and The Simpsons.

LOL - ben, you make a good point.

I hate snobby store clerks!
Who do they think they are?
Without you the customer, they have no salary! They should be grateful to show you around and help you out!!!

[As we say in Trinidad to express disbelief and shock: "But I never see more!" In Standard English it would tranlate to: 'I've never known anyone to be so audacious!']

Loud motorcycles.

Sport on the news. Sport isn't news. But I like the news.

Sport.

Porn in newspapers.

High-paid sports players. (I do like to run around with a ball every so often myself)

Sneezing while driving. Actually mostly driving in general, especially in even modest traffic.

Ipods that don't work, particularly mine.

Thoughtlessness (mostly my own)

Yeah, I don't mind playing a bit of sport either. It's the culture of sport I hate.

I don't think so. And even if it does, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

Professional athletes do more than "run around with a ball every so often." A lot more.

Il Penseroso

The "I do like to run around with a ball every so often myself" was in response to blp's remark of hating sports; I had misunderstood him and thought that he meant sports in general, even to play. I just meant to emphasize the lighthearted simplicity that can be found in sports for recreation.

My statement against high-paid professional athletes was meant more against a society that has made these games symbols of excess while teachers are paid miniscule rates for what is a much more meaningful position. Sports games receive very much attention in the media and with everyday individuals while important events and subjects get dismissed. I've been badgered by friends of mine when I told them that instead of watching the Final Four or Super Bowl I sat at home and read school textbooks or whatnot. I found this a much more rewarding experience for myself.

I suppose misunderstandings are the natural result of a hate thread, eh?

I hate, or just really strongly dislike, the fact that I won't see him for so long. I don't like being so far away from him, I don't like not being able to hug him, or even just be around him.
