I just read Dracula, and i think it's awesome and well-written, though i feel that the story is rather predictable. i've seen movies about dracula and they spoiled the surprises in this book. i already knew how the count was (with all those no reflections on mirrors, walking on the walls, etc...). perhaps it'd be more facinating to read it in times when people don't know much about dracula, so it's like we're reading something absolutely new.
I Have to admit that the bloody part annoyed me, but i still love the book, though! i love it how Stoker could manage to turn something awfully dull into some page turning chapters (I thought Dr. Seward's diary was a complete page-wasting when he talked about Renfield, but he turned out to be one of my favourite characters in this book), and how he could leave the unimportant details and still satisfy the readers. *sigh* it must've been fun to be in the group with the Harkers and Van Helsing (and of course, Dr. Seward, Art, and Quincey Morris). Chaw.
