I can't believe nobody started a topic about this already!

They say the "tradition" of celebrating April Fool's Day started around the time of the introduction to the Gregorian calendar.

Have you seen any April Fool's pranks on the `net? I thought this one was pretty funny

Any good pranks to share? I must say I haven't pulled off any successful ones yet.

Upload your profile – tell the world who you are, or, more to the point, who you’d like to think you are, or, even more to the point, who you want others to think you are.

 oh gawd this is funny!

I have unfortunately not had a chance to play any pranks this year. Last Year when I was living with some of my friends at college, I put transparent tarpoulin sheets across their doorways and watched as each of them got up and walked straight into it.

LOL @ Kilted

Do you do April "fishes"? The 1st April pranks here are called "fishes" and sometimes people put fish-shaped pieces of paper (sometimes with a writing on it) on the back of other people.

Hmm in an online community I frequent we had a news a few days ago that we expect to be revealed as a prank - cos we now in the mailing list at this time of year there is always some very silly news that ends up being a prank...

Oh, what I day to be born on! I bet she's had it up to here with, "Sorry, I didn't get you a present... Oh! Yes, I did," jokes.

I think it's the times when you get kicked, knocked or whatever for what seemed like for no apparent reason at all other than bacause the note taped on your back says so :D (i.e. "KICK ME"). Still rampant in my town this year  and yes, I am the main culprit...I wonder when the whole school will uprise against me...

*shudder* I live in fear of this day, to be quite honest. I just can't get into the whole "practical joke" thing; I don't think playing tricks on other people is funny. Probably because, when they're played on me, I feel publicly humiliated and want to go hide and cry. Most of my friends would know better than to play a joke on me, but I always worry that I'll run into someone who doesn't know me as well.

I'm not planning to leave the house today. :p

Yeah must be the same.

Is it such a big deal in the States? I don't think I've seen people older than 18 making pranks... i remember making fishes with my friend on the last year of high school and feeling so stupid
I haven't heard of any jokes today, not even on my teenage brother's side....
But I admit I haven't been out.

I think it depends on the individual. I try to avoid it at all costs, so it's a frightening and unfamiliar world that I don't know much about. :p

I had a friend who did something like that--put Saran wrap over a doorway in the middle of the night, and stood on the opposite side from the bedroom part of the house making a huge racket. Someone came running and bounced right off--heeheeheehee...
