#15) Yes. Faust. But the Devil got him after all. And the moral of the story is, you cannot make a deal with the devil, he always stacks the deck.

I remember that he was saved in the end. The Devil tries to take him, but God intervenes. That's what happens in Goethe right?

You could be right. My memory isn't what it used to be, and I know quite a number of such stories: I could be mixing Faust up with The Devil and Tom Walker. I know that that one ends badly! The Devil and Daniel Webster comes out good for the victim. Jack O' Lantern ends with the man beening unwelcome in either heaven or hell, and so on. So I'll take your word for it, you got the name right, which was what I wanted. :D

I simply refuse to believe that no one out there has a clue about any of these! I made the list out of my head, no references. At this point I say Google for answers, althought if you think #2 & #3 really name the character in the clue in a way. #1, there is a clue in the word "overlooked." #4 Tv. Movies. Cartoons. Comics. Novels. #10 Seige Perilous at the Round Table. #13 There's a brand of beer named for him! #14 Member LXG. #17. You might have to read the story, but it's very good. #18 A central character, totally unforgetable. #19 Well, I'm still a kid at heart, and Jacquas' world of creatures is well written. #20 Broad hint: This boy's name should be done to a hat in respect. Can't tell you the Dr, Suess Book, as the character is the title, but the book is about conservation.

#10) The knight is Sir Galahad and Sir Lancelot is his father, and Sir Percival (there are various spellings) were all three on the quest. Some tellings say both Percival and Galahad saw The Holy Grail, but Lancelot, due to his flings with the Queen was too impure to be allowed to do so. I need to remember I'm past 40 and my memory isn't what it used to be!

#10. What about Bors? The way I know it, he was one of the three together with Galahad and Percival.OK. I went and dug out the book. Yep. Sir Bors was there, also, in the Sidney Lainer version anyway. There's a seperate book on my shelf detailing the adventures of Percival, which is why there was a mix-up in my mind, as he gets the credit in that book. I've been reading too much Sherlock Holmes and Sci-Fi lately, and let the very legends from which I take my name grow stale in my memory! http://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/traurig/sad-smiley-056.gifhttp://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/traurig/sad-smiley-056.gifhttp://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/traurig/sad-smiley-056.gifhttp://www.clicksmilies.com/s0105/traurig/sad-smiley-056.gif

I am afraid I've never read Quiver. The one comic book hero that I would find least likely to smile, however, would be Batman. I will admit for once to a flat-out guess, since I'm thinking Brand Corporation, and I'm not certain that the BC is in DC Comics or Marvel. ;)

In Quiver, Boston Brand possesses Etrigan in order to deliver a message from beyond the grave to Wonder Woman, Batman, and Arsenal. He reverts back to Jason Blood and looks down. "Well, would ya look at that. No wonder he never smiles."

They are three Bums—
They are three Brothers—
They are three Bats as well—
From the dark depths of the Okefenokee—
Members of The Audible Boy Bird Watcher’s Society—
Presided over by Deacon Mus’rat, do tell.
All of their names have to start with a B:
And their names are the name of an old song title,
Recently sung on American Idol,
And released by Rod Stewart on his latest CD…

Let's see how well Robin remembers a Who's Who?
1.) Batman is really who?
2.) Superman is really who?
3.) The current Flash is really who?
4.) The current Batgirl is really who?
5.) The girl who was once Robin to Batman became which other costumed character?
6.) Originally to teach him humility, Odin caused Thor to assume what Earthly identity?
7.) Who has been all of these heroes: Giantman, Antman, Goliath, Yellowjacket?
8.) Gamma radiation is a strange thing: Of all those affected by it, who retains the most human appearance?
9.) Who was The Joker before he became The Joker, comic book speaking?
10.) How did the Beast first disguise himself after he grew blue fur and fangs?
Upon my honor, these are drawn from memory. Now, in comic book land, my sign-on name means something. Do you know what? ;)

4.) The current Batgirl is really who? Cassandra Cain

6.) Originally to teach him humility, Odin caused Thor to assume what Earthly identity? Dr. Donald Blake
7.) Who has been all of these heroes: Giantman, Antman, Goliath, Yellowjacket? Dr. Henry Pym
8.) Gamma radiation is a strange thing: Of all those affected by it, who retains the most human appearance? Dr. Samson-- he has great size and muscles, but only his long hair is green.
9.) Who was The Joker before he became The Joker, comic book speaking? A small-time crook called The Red Hood
10.) How did the Beast first disguise himself after he grew blue fur and fangs? He used Hollywood level masks and make-up.
Upon my honor, these are drawn from memory. Now, in comic book land, my sign-on name means something. Do you know what? There is a group of super heroes called The Knights of Pendragon, a super heroine called Lady Pendragon, and a Pendragon who is a sorcerer figures in the John Constantine stories.

Thought you must have been gone. You would never turn down a challange like this.
#4 The New Batgirl is Cassandra Cain, daughter of Batman villian David Cain the Assassian for hire.
About #5. Yes there was a female Robin, briefly, she became the Spoiler. Very inept as a Heroine.
#6: Dr. Donald Blake. Now he's on his third ID, I think.
#7: Dr. Henry Pym. I think he may just go by Dr. Pym now. He was married to The Wasp.
#8 The Fantastic Four got their powers from Cosmic Rays. Doc Samson stays human-looking all the time, only large and muscular. His hair is green and long.
#9: That was for the Movie. No name in the comics, but he was The Red Hood.
#10: Dr. Henry McCoy is also a Master of Disguise.
Hey, this should interest you. I just read a novel called DC Universe: Inheritance by Devin Grayson, published by Warner. It stars Batman, Green Arrow, Aquaman, Nightwing, Arsenal, and Tempest. Yeah, I knew there was a girl Robin in (I believe) The Long Halloween, but I was unaware she graduated past sidekick. That's probably because The Spoiler to my knowledge got herself kicked out of The Oracle's Birds of Prey, and was soon killed. As I said, she was inept as a heroine, but kept trying to prove she could do it. I'm on a second DC Universe novel now, starring Superman, Martian Manhunter, and Lobo. It's called Last Sons, as all three are the sole survivors of their respective planets. (For the book, I guess they forgot Supergirl and various villains).
