hello i'm new and would appreciate it very much if one of u could help me out with my essay...it's on 'Snow Falling on Cedars' the novel by David Gutterson...ok so here's the prompt: "Take one important motif (symbol) and discuss the importance of that repeating motif throughout this novel Snow Falling On Cedars " THANK YOU!!!!!

I don't know if you're checking back but it's been so long since I read the book I couldn't think of any one symbol. Possibly something about his father might work, the paper maybe?

After you have read Snow Falling on Cedars again, I would suggest searching online for some notes which may illuminate certain aspects of the story further.Try and find some pages which highlight the symbols and bring a deeper perspective to the main characters.I have also seen the film(1999) http://www.snowfallingoncedars.com/ based on the book, so you might want to watch that some time as well.
