I do usually remember it but occasionally it gets left out. I prefer to see an umlaut rather than a double vowel because that's how I learned the language in the first place. Like the majority of German marching songs, the tune does sound festive but it's just as well that most English listeners don't know the words; especially in that one and, given the choice, I would much rather see two little lollipops coming towards me on roller skates than the Wehrmacht on tank tracks.

He seems to have cornered the market in patriotic songs. Interesting that you still play vinyl, I actually prefer it to CDs when older recordings are being digitalised. I was listening to someone on the radio explaining why vinyl often sounds better and he explained that during the transference of music from vinyl to CD, they lose some of the frequency.
I didn't know that Warsteiner did a dark beer I have only had it as a lager and I don't think that many Germans would choose it over 'ein Helles' but maybe it's made principally for export.
It was a pity about the Bismark but we had to get it or it would have played havoc with our ships.

Keeping on the beer theme, this little clip shows what must be the fastest service ever although I don't think I would go there these days.

That was traumatizing. Reminds me of Arch Enemy. Not as heavy, but Lacuna Coil is a great metal band with female vocals. If The Agonist singer ever mated with the singer from Cannibal Corpse the antichrist would be thereby spawned.

Very nice too and from a time when the US was No.1 on the export table: it's not difficult to make the connection. I was listening to Paul McCartney on the radio a couple of days ago and he was saying that people like Jerome Kern and Cole Porter knew how to write wonderful songs and great lyrics. It's taken him over 60 years to find out. Duh!
Anyhow, here's another example of Cole Porter's ability to provide real entertainment. I could eat Mitzi Gaynor.

Never heard of him, but he acquitted himself well. (btw, can't help but add something with Miles Davis (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07-rxZHvKT4&feature=related)--another guy who turned to Marcus often to help shape his sound in the 80's, not to mention Luther Vandross. The clip's from Sanborn's TV show!)

Thanks for the tip, I did like that--it provides some insight into their relationship, I think (but I still have questions). As you point out, Marcus was so young then, but played such an important role, eventually ending up as producer for a lot of the 80's Miles output. (My favorite is still the Man With The Horn album, though. Worth checking out if you like Marcus Miller.)
