    Musicians ahem!

So, I know that we have to make it quick before any pirate hijacks this thread, but:
    Shea said:
    I play harp et cetera
Who of you play any music instruments?

We now know that Shea plays harp. But who else?

We play flute for seventh years, accustic guitar for a few years and recorder as a sortofa hobby.
If you believe even a half of this post, you are severely mistaken.

Until I graduated from the High School I played the flute and mandolin but haven't touched either since then... unfortunately.

PS: Not telling you how long ago that was!

Recorder eh? I still play it nowadays... occasionally... It lies with my harmonica and my pianica... I used to play electone, but they don't have it here in the U.S.

A Japan product that apparently circulates only in Southeast Asia. It is way cooler than a piano or an organ. You can insert a floppy disk and you can have this whole arrangement and stuff. It sure takes some coordination, though. You need all hands and legsto play this thing. :^|

I play the following fluently: guitar, bass, trumpet, piano, harmonica, hand percussion, and mandolin.

Product of a boring childhood? Not product of competitive parents?

No, I taught myself with books and videos on all of the instruments I know, except the piano and trumpet. But, anyway, I feel immodest now.

I've done the same as you mono, I've played piano, guitar, clarinet, recorder, flute, cello, and tinwhistle. Give me a book and an instrument an I can teach myself anything. But of all those instruments I get the most enjoyment from the harp (which I taught myself as well) and it's the only one that I've really excelled at. I've just about mastered Pachelbel's Canon and a few really tough Irish jigs.

Now it's my turn to feel immodest, but really, it's easy to teach yourself particularly if you already know how to read music.

The thing is - how do you get your hands on all of those instruments - most instruments (with the possible exeption of the triangle) are expensive.

I got lucky, my mom played a lot of those insturments or I borrowed others from friends. But I think that many music stores rent instruments. It could be worth the money to try out many different ones. It took me a while before I found that my best skill was with the harp. (that happened to be an out-of-the-blue christmas present though. I still have no idea why).

i play gitar and the bamboo flute, which i feel has a much more natural and harmonious feel than the metal flute.
