    Greece spoils hosts' party (again)

Seriously, how do referees like Carbalho make it to major international tournaments? My uncle Nikos used to referee for the local school league. He wore specs that I'm reminded of every time I tip a bottle of Balantines into a glass. He would have done a better job tonight.

The ridiculous dismissal of Papastathopoulos just before half time, however, seemed to give the Greek team a ten-man spirit that helped them equalize, then dominate a large part of the second half. Pity Karagounis missed from the spot -- we would certainly have won this had he scored.

Regardless, Greece showed they're no push-overs tonight. Here's to their fighting spirit infecting some of us watching them back home.

I do agree that the Greek side showed great spirit in the second half - despite the unfair yellow and red cards. Just because of that, I would have liked to see them win but still a draw is better than a loss.

Just because we are using Drachma doesn't mean we hae to adopt the Greek banks' accountancy practices.

    Mick - 80 I think.

That group B is a killer. I hae to decide who to put the mockers on next.

10 Dr on Netherlands to win.

After the Spanish ref robbed me of my first 50, the Czech folded like a defective ironing board, sealing my fate.

Hey Mick, lend me 20 drachmae.

Did I get anything right yesterday? Apart from the Doc being out, that is?

    OK, one more time:

    Papaya: 80

    Mick: 80

    Neely: 110

    Paul: 100

    Snow: 90

    Scher: 80

Did I mention English is not my first language?

    Today's matches feel like semi-finals. Can't wait

Yes mine's right. I enjoyed the football yesterday, it was a lot more attacking then you usually get at the start of a tournament, let's hope it continues like that, very promising. I do not fancy England's chances though, it must be the worst team for at least 20 years, I'm going to look back over the teams in a bit.

    First bet - 25 D on a Holland win.

No comment in regards to poor Doc (from Greece) being out and wanting to lend money...!!
