Hey, baseball fans! Here's a quiz

While weeding through some old papers recently, I came across this baseball quiz someone created decades ago. I've updated the clues to reflect the expansion teams; also some of my clues are customized for my fellow LitNetters. Okay?

I know next to nothing about baseball. The rules have been explained to me on more than one occassion (even on here, I think) but I still fail to grasp them. Who's on first....

What's more, on Wii baseball, I am a disgrace... I can pitch but as a catcher *shakes head*...

Having said that, I could still answer couple of these questions!

Wow, that's very good. I didn't get that one. I got about 20ish, maybe a little more. I couldn't keep count.

I admit it. I had a little help from my friend google (Who knew Mencken's Hometown?).

That's great, Auntie. I figured out 20 of the teams on my first sweep through the clues, but I needed a list of teams to refer to, in order to identify the final 10 teams.

I applaud the following clues in particular, assuming that you were responsible for at least some of them: the artful one, Mencken's birds, Twain's time traveler, Coleridge's ancient, Blake's burner, Silver's colleagues, Forster's passage, and Shakespeare's characters.

And some people think that it doesn't pay to listen in class.
