    Happy Birthday Niamh

There once was a scotsman named Drew
Who put too much wine in his stew
    He felt a bit drunk
    And fell off his bunk
And landed smack into his shoe

    oh, happy birthday!
One has to laugh before being happy, because otherwise one risks to die before having laughed.

"Je crains [...] que l'âme ne se vide à ces passe-temps vains, et que le fin du fin ne soit la fin des fins." (Edmond Rostand, Cyrano de Bergerac, Acte III, Scène VII)

    Indeed, happy birthday!
"I should only believe in a God that would know how to dance. And when I saw my devil, I found him serious, thorough, profound, solemn: he was the spirit of gravity- through him all things fall. Not by wrath, but by laughter, do we slay. Come, let us slay the spirit of gravity!" - Nietzsche

    Happy Birthday, Niamh!

A collection of recipe books just for you:

    An interview with Niamh:

*Why are we doing this interview thing?*
Because its become a yearly tradition. This is my third time doing it.

*Are you sure you want to do this?*
    If I wasn't sure I wouldn't be doing it!

    *Who killed Roger Rabbit?*
No one. He's not dead just on the run.

*Whose footprints would you find in the fridge?*
    Probably my own.

    *So, how old are you?*
    28 years young.

*If you had a personal theme song what would it be?*
Bright Side of Life- Monty Python

*Are you male or female? *
    female

*What makes you keep coming back to the Forum?*
The people... although I admit I've been rather neglectful of the forum of late. Oops.

*Are you happy with the way things are here?*
    Yes.

*If you could change one thing about the LitNet, what would that be?*
I'd have a special sub forum for birthday thread so that if members were absent for a while they will be able to find out who's birthdays they missed. I know I'm missed an awful lot so happy Birthday everyone!

*What was the inspiration for your LitNet username?*
Its the name my parents gave me, nothing exciting.

Should JBI get an + beside his name?
that depends, I've never gotten into a conversation with him, well that I can recall at any rate.

    *Which countries have you visited?*
England, Scotland, Wales, France, Italy, Belgium, Canary Islands, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Monaco, Canada and I was in airports in Germany and Malaysia when heading to southern hemisphere.

    *Which languages do you speak?*
English, and a poor amount of French and Irish.

*How do you like your home town?*
Dublin is a great city. Subby described it as Dodgy Dublin, and it is but the people are good craic.

*If you could live somewhere different, where would it be and why?*
Canada. Its just so beautiful there.

    *Do you have any pets?*
None but I do have a plant called Beggy.

    *What makes you happy?*
Chocolate, good TV programmes, Drew and my friends.

*Would you choose a desperate Hope or an unknown Faith?*
    Desperate hope... I think.

*Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God/atheism? *
I've very happy on my path of spiritualism.

*Which actor should play you in a movie based on your life?*
I've said it before, I'd love Eva Green. She is beautiful and i'd love to at least look beautiful in the boring movie of my life.

*How do you like your coffee? *
    Smooth.

*Given the option, what animal would you choose to be?*
A Robin. I feel spiritually attached to this bird.

*What's the biggest fish you've ever caught?*
cant catch when you've never fished!

*What makes you feel great about yourself?*
That even though I'm not pretty, I'm happy I've some talents and intelligence.

*How did you meet your significant other?*
    Here on litnet.

    *Who inspires you most?*
    The Dalai Lama.

*What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)*
I like to think I'm a good writer, a good painter, and a good cook.

*What is the one thing you must do before you die?*
    See the Aurora Borealis.

*If you had to teach something, what would you teach?*
    Pre-History.

*What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?*
I'd regret it if I didn't complete my degree, being the best kind of person that I can be and having Drew in my life. Yeah I know, mushy or what!

*If you were to be stuck at a particular time in your life, which one would you choose and why?*
Although this is one of my happiest times, my health has been bad. I just got over a bad neck and back injury and now I've found out I've an ovarian cyst which is playing havoc with my system and preventing me from getting back into a fitness regime. I think last summer would be the time I'd like to relive.

*Do you get tired living life?*
In the past, when I suffered from depression I did, not any more though.

*What one thing would you NEED to have on a deserted island if you didn't have to worry over food and water? *
Books! (oh and Drew of course!)

*If you were a king/queen for a day, what would you do?*
I'm a King everyday and have been for 28 years! hehehe

*What’s the stupidest forum argument you’ve ever had?*
I don't even think I could answer this question. There have been so many face palm moments, and “what where they thinking for me” statements about this forum over the last four years that I couldn't choose one. And I don't want to offend anyone.

*What song is in your head at the moment?*
Tony was an Ex Con by The Coronas

*Which book are you reading at the moment?*
I should be reading Hard Times by Dickens for college but I'm currently reading Arrow by R.J Anderson. I just love this series of books! It's the third in the series. I think I had a rant about the first one here two years ago.
I'm also reading about three other books for college... plus one text book.

    *What is your favourite quote?*
None but ourselves can free our minds- Bob Marley

    *Favorite avatar on the Forum?*
    Orphan Pips.

*What is your answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything?*?
    big Bang 2

*What are you wearing at the moment?*
As I have just come in from work after doing the 5am shift, i'm in my Pj's as its nap time.

    *Favourite poem?*
Is It A Month By J.M.Synge

*First novel you remember reading on your own?*
Classic- Jane Eyre... other than that, probably Enid Blyton's The Twins at St Clare's.

    19th/20th Century

    *Favourite TV shows?*
Doctor Who, Torchwood, Merlin, Cold Cases, Time Team, Top Gear and general historical documentaries.

*Which Forum members would you like to meet in person?*
After 4 years on the forum a hell of a lot of them!

*Last words you said out loud?*
    do do do do.....

    *Last person you hugged/kissed?*
    Drew

*What do you do (for a living) to be able to keep your LitNet addiction going? And are you happy with your chosen profession?*
I'm a Duty Manager over five bookshops. It wasn't a chosen profession, more like one that kind of fell into place after I took up a “between” job as a sales assistant with them because work with my chosen profession, Archaeology, became scare and I have kinda stayed with it. I love the challenge of it and its given me more confidence in my abilities.

*Would you rather be an educated fool or an ignorant fool?*
Cant I be somewhere in the middle?

*What would you like to be if you could change your profession?*
    Writer or a publisher.

*Which one of the seven dwarves are you and why?*
I'm definitely sleepy. Drew would agree with me on this one. Between juggling a full time job with mad hours and currently a full time education too, I'm sleepy most of the time.

*If you could change one thing about the way you look, what would that be?*
I want to lose the two stone I've put on or have straight teeth.

*Which book do you wish you had written?*
The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

*What book would you recommend to others of all types and ages as a must read?*
His Dark Materials by Philip Pulman.

*What should you be doing at the moment instead of answering these questions?*
    Sleeping.

    *Favorite movie?*
Currently I think it would be Stardust.

    *Last movie you watched?
    The Other Boleyn Girl

*How are you going to pick just one favourite painting?*

    Can't just choose one!
    *Favorite painting?*
My favourite Painting's are The Metamorphosis of Narcissus by Salvador Dali, repose De La Nuit by Mucha, and one by Jack Yeats, the name of which has alluded at present and I'm ashamed to admit it!

    Bowie, yay or nay?
    Yay!

    *Wonderful Superman or depressing Batman?*
    Batman. Always Batman. Superman sucks.

What was the best thing that happened to you during this year?
By year i'm going to go with since the last interview and that was Drew moving over in May.

*If you could send one thing to the Room 101, one would that be?*
    Barney. Ugh.

*Which care bear are you and why?*
Good Luck bear. Its the one with the Irish Accent and the Shamrock.

*How long did it take you to answer all of these questions?*
a long time. Well over an hour.

*One final word of wisdom for LitNet users?*
    be nice.

*What question would you like to ask to the person to be interview after you?
What is your favourite type, brand and flavour tea?
