It was very hard to choose. I had to go back and read them all at least a few times. Well done, every one! It was enjoyable to read those wrapped in a blanket, sipping hot cocoa. <3 Mm, I love autumn.
Then she would run until morning to ease the ache; swifter than rain, swift as loss, racing to catch up with the time when she had known nothing at all but the sweetness of being herself.

Congratulations to Qimissung, who is the winner of our Autumn Poetry Contest!

    Time Flowing Forever

Standing under the gray sky lintel,
Breathe in the air, tangy with
Cold, the hint of winter snow
Hanging in the air behind it.

I stop, surrounded by the shining gray
As if all the snow that will ever fall
Lies there, a snow globe waiting
    To be shaken; the promise
Awaits, even if it’s never claimed.

Hovering on the cusp between day
And night, I feel the sweet sorrow
Wrap its’ arms around me as I
    Contemplate the dying earth,
The dying day, the dying season,
    And my childhood gone away.

    Time flowing forever on the
    Limitless river of infinity,
    Forever beyond me,
    Forever a part of me

I face forward, Janus, into the
    Purple twilight, the cold a
    Promise of the fierce passion
To come, the hope of it
    Beckoning me forward with
    Sunset’s fiery fingertips.

I stand in the purple, mournful, haunting
Dusk and, with the naked trees, listen
To earth’s hymn, sung in a minor key.

The frailty and force of life
    Rest in the purple coverlet
    The day drapes over me,
Tender as a mother to a
Child, as we await the night.

Congratulations Qimi!! Wonderful poem. That last stanza was exquisite!

Way to go Qimi! Encore! Encore!

    Some of us lie

It was beautiful qim! Yours was my favorite as well, though like I said before, it was a very difficult choice to make. Congrats to all!

Gimissung, my friend, I did love your poem best; I voted for it. Congratulations! It was a difficult choice though. Since, they all were so great, can we now find out who wrote each. I think everyone here was a winner.

Thank you all, you dear people. Mostly it's nice to have such wonderful friends! They were all good poems, I enjoyed reading each of them. I know who wrote two of them, and would love to know who wrote the others. Thank you, again, Virgil, Maryd, Pendragon, skib, Janine, for your warm good wishes.
