    Returned - I hope!

    Hi all,

I see that a lot of my old friends are still around the forum, so hopefully for at least a few people this will be more than a first introduction - for everybody else, nice to meet you!

I've been off the forum for about 6 months. Because I'm spending this year as an exchange student in Italy, close to Rome, things have been a bit hectic. Now that I've started picking up enough of the language to get by - and settled in a bit more - I'm hoping that I can find time to return to LitNet. Even if only to talk in English!

Anyways, I'm glad to be back. I hope to meet or re-meet all of you around the forum!!

    Baci,
    Mir

Hi Mir. I haven't forgotten you. I hope you are enjoying Italy. I wish I could spend a year there. So tell us some of your adventures.

Thanks, all of you!! I missed you.

I'll post some stuff about Italy in my blog. For a synthesis: Italy is very beautiful, very different, and very incomprehensible! There's a lot less individualism than in the US - which, unfortunately, means that not as many people read and even fewer write. But, I think the country is much prettier (I've visited a few other places besides Rome: Florence and pretty much all of Tuscany are AMAZING), and, of course, the food is awesome. The schools here are harder, though. I'm very glad America hasn't picked up on the idea of "interrogations"!

It really is wonderful to have our talented mir back!
I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.
