I did had a superb birthday, Uncie Virg. But was really sad that you missed my birthday.

Nah..., thanks for the wishes and for the baloons! I didn't get any when I celebrated at the amusement park last Friday.

Happy Happy Birthday to all! Hope you both got lotsa good books.
I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book! When I have a house of my own, I shall be miserable if I have not an excellent library.

    Happy Birthday!

    An interview with Subterrranean:

Why are we doing this interview thing?
I don't know. This sounds like fun

Are you sure you want to do this?
    Pretty much

If you had a personal theme song what would it be?
'Who are You' by The Who

    Are you male or female?
Can't you tell from those 6000 something posts? Of course I'm a female.

How did you come about this site and what makes you keep coming back?
I was looking for Guy de Maupassant short stories and it's the annoying yet entertaining posts that keeps me coming back

Are you happy with the way things are here?

Pretty much. I guess I have reached to that point where some things are not to be changed. So just accept them and move on

Have you visited other countries than your own and what did you like about it or not like? If you could live somewhere different from where you live now, where would it be and why?
I've been to 22 countries so far and traveling the globe is one of the greatest things in my life. Most of the countries I visited have their stories to tell and I made new friends all over. I like meeting people, learning their cultures and background. It totally opened up my horizon and made me completely realized how small I was and how much I needed to learn. Some cities really give deep impressions and memories. I love Capetown for its majestic landscapes, New York its vibrant atmosphere, Dublin for its laidback feelings. I got stopped at the passport control in Moscow one time because the Russian embassy mistakenly put my sex as 'Male' and since I don't know Russian characters, I didn't know that until that Russian custom officer told me to step aside and didn't let me get thru (Russia is the least country I want to have issue with!). I've never been asked so many times about my marital status when I was in Manama. So, yeah..., I'm having fun so far and I said grace for every new ground I stepped on.

I'm living in Copenhagen at the moment, and I consider this as an ideal city to live in. I never thought I would feel happy paying almost 50% of my income for tax every month to support the social system. But I don’t mind because it actually works! The city is very nice, very safe, with fine quality of living. Of course there are some drawbacks but aren’t all cities in the world are like that? So if I got to choose, I'd most likely opt to stay in Copenhagen.

    Do you have any pets?
Just gold fish back home in Indonesia. I haven't check on him for quite some time now. Hmm...

    What makes you happy?
    People

What is mankind's biggest achievement, and its greatest downfall?
    Means of communication, I suppose.
    Ignorance

If you had a long day of hard work ahead of you what music would you be playing on your mp3, while working?
Usually various artists, from The Who to, ahem, Justin Timberlake.

If you could take one book, music album and one video with you to a desert island, what would they be?
Book: Jude the Obscure or Siddhartha
Music Album: a compilation of British invasion bands
Video: a video recording of my mom’s ramblings probably

Do you feel comfortable in your walk with God?
We have our differences but it doesn't mean that we don't love each other.

Which actor should play you in a movie based on your life?
Actress you mean? I'd probably choose Julia Roberts

Given the option, what animal would you choose to be?
    Does a phoenix count?

What were your favorite things to do the past? What about now?
Collecting music articles and photos, sketching home designs. Now it's pretty much reading, I guess.

What makes you feel great about yourself?
My warm personality (so people said)

How did you meet your significant other?
I met my current boyfriend at new year's celebration last 31st Dec/1st Jan

Who inspires you most? (Anyone you know or not. Family, friends, authors, artists, leaders, etc.) Which qualities inspire you, in each person?
I got inspired a lot by my well traveled good friends, Paddy and Chris. Paddy is in his way of doing the his second great road trip journey from Capehorn, Argentina to Alaska, US (http://www.capehorn2alaska.org/). His first journey was 4 years back when he and a buddy drove from Cookstown, Ireland to Capetown, South Africa (http://www.cookstown2capetown.org/). Chris is a very good friend who balances my world with his evil side

What are you naturally good at? (Skills, abilities, gifts etc.)
I'm pretty good at looking at details.

If you had to teach something, what would you teach?
    Social science or Anthropology.

What would you regret not fully doing, being or having in your life?
Putting more quality time on learning how to write properly.

What is your role in an emergency situation: the 911 dialer, the person who runs to the scene to help, the video recorder, or the person too overcome by shock to do anything?
I'd scream first to release my shock then run to the injured person. Can’t help it…

What song is in your head at the moment?
    Walk On by U2

Which book are you reading at the moment?
Globalization and Its Discontents by Joseph Stiglizt

What do you do (for a living) to be able to keep your LitNet addiction going? And are you happy with your chosen profession?
I'm doing SAP implementation for finance and accounting system. It's ok. I'm not HAPPY with it, but it's ok.

    Why am I doing this?

What would you like to be if you could change your profession?
Marine biologist, writer, scientist, or an actress
