day in a life

there was a fire last week in the city next to my town and one young man died. I found out today when his name was on the news the this is an old friend and ex/almost boyfriend. when I was 18 I had a big crush on him. I adored him he was so smart and sweet and funny and tolerated all my weird things but didn't let me get away with any crap. one night thing just happened for us when we were alone like so often we met a few times with new thoughts for each other but he was doing a bit of illegal smoking and all of a sudden he disappeared for a week and I knew he had fallen into something I didn't want to get caught up in so I didn't try to make more contact with him even though it made me very sad. and now he is dead.

I called my friend and told her and I think we're going to the funeral together. this was a real shock and I can't believe it really.

I was told that he had gotten out of the stuff and was in school again. I just think it's so sad that when he finally got out if and is trying to do something with his life, he dies.
