Exiled in a kilt

Ok, so the message says I've not posted in a few weeks - doubt anyone noticed though.

I am working away and generally getting stuff done. Since the last entry have added another worker to the crew - looks like it'll turn out ok.

I havent had time to pick up a book in 3 months, I am making do with a hurried read of the newspaper (Globe & Mail).

I am in the lucky position that I can afford not to be worried over the current financial situation in the world. Luckily Canada is not running a deficit & job figures are relatively steady (with the exception of those working in US controlled Auto Plants in Southern Ontario), I own no stocks & shares (in fact I am even considering getting in on some things while it is at the low level - At my age I can afford to let it sit till the prices go back up again), Gas prices are going down - paid 85c/L a couple of weeks back.

Thanksgiving was good, I gave thanks for hops, barley, malt & water Also avoided turkey (horrible dry tasteless foul bird), had lamb roast instead.

Am becoming attracted to a cute girl who works at the grocers across from where I work (I go there on a regular basis to get lunch), for the last week have been attempting to get a chance to ask her out - unfortunately there is always some old folk asking her questions, so for now I make do with seeing her wonderful smile....

Actually I was wondering what had happened to you. Glad things are good. Bah, newspapers, I can't stand them. Though I guess I read them myself. "Thanksgiving was good, I gave thanks for hops, barley, malt & water." That's something to be very very thankful for.

yeah, I don't know what to make of the financial crisis. I have a retirement account, but there's not much in it anyway and I'm nowhere near retirement so I'm not too worried about that I guess. It has lost value, but my employer contributed all the money there so it was kind of like a bonus anyway. Either it will be there for me when I retire or it won't be. And about that girl...good luck with that. A lot of people I know, including myself, meet their future spouses at work. Or, they at least have flings. Just remember...it's best not to crap where you work if you know what I mean.

It's nice to see a blog from you, Kilt! Lamb roast, YUM. I wish you'd pop over to the social group and give the recipe. I have some of lamb roast in the deep freeze and aside from rubbing it wilt some rosemary and garlic I don’t know much about how to cook it. Well, I do shepherd’s pie sometimes. Lamb is not something I have a lot of experience with so I’m always looking for new recipes. Good luck with the girl.
