Sean Gaffney: age 34, political conservative, born-again Christian, admirer of H.G. Wells.

Huh?

``The thing is that we are both storytellers,'' Gaffney explains. ``Yes, we could hardly be more different in our beliefs. But a story has an independent life. If you let it tell itself honestly, ideology isn't all that important.''

Testimony to that unimportance is Gaffney's latest play, ``Moreau.'' It premieres tonight at Taproot Theatre. It is based on Wells' 1895 science ...
