Washington, Nov 27 -- Classic 1987 movie 'Time After Time' has topped a new online-poll to select the best time-travelling movie.

The movie starring Malcolm McDowell, Mary Steenburgen, David Warner, and Charles Cioffi was written and directed by Nicholas Meyer.

The film tells of how science fiction author H.G. Wells (McDowell) builds a time machine in 1893 London. Before he is able to test the machine, a physician friend of his,Jack the Ripper, steals it to escape capture by going to 1979 San Francisco.
