RICHMOND -- Ethel Jeanette McCandless Whitehurst, widow of Patrick W. Whithurst, died Tuesday, April 2, 1996.
She was the daughter of Thomas Carlyle and Estelle Jeanette Lewis McCandless of Philadelphia. She was born March 10, 1909, in Philadelphia and retired in April 1972 from the North Carolina Extension Service as secretary to the Farm and Home Demonstration Agent in Camden County, N.C.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, John W. and Clara Reese Whitehurst of Moyock, N.C., and Charles C. and Jeanette Whitehurst of Portsmouth; her daughter and ...
