THE organized Catholic bishops' "intervention" consists in making the coming elections clean and peaceful. Although secular, such intervention has a spiritual side, since an honest vote and an honest count can be the salvation of political society.
There's a touch of cynicism in the adage that people should take the bribe and vote according to their conscience. What people should do is to reject the bribe and the briber. That's Christian politics.
