For kindergartners at Booth Tarkington Elementary School, last week's visit by Wheeling firefighters was more than just a break from the books.
It provided a chance to learn about fire prevention from the professionals.
The 40 wide-eyed youngsters swarmed the firefighters as they displayed and explained the uses for the equipment they carry on their trucks.
The enthusiasm that rang out from the pint-sized pupils showed as they cheered when each piece of equipment was introduced.
