Lunt, Alfred
(1892–1977), American actor, who made his début in Boston in 1912 and had his first big success in 1919, playing the title-role in Booth Tarkington's Clarence . In 1922 he married Lynn Fontanne [ Lillie Louise Fontanne ] (1887–1983), who after studying with Ellen Terry and making her début in pantomime in 1905 had pursued a successful stage career in London and New York.
