A Hotel which was a favourite North-east haunt of author Bram Stoker is for sale

The creator of Dracula liked to stay at Cruden Bay's Kilmarnock Arms while researching his 19th-century horror classic.

Nearby Slains Castle is believed to be the inspiration for the Transylvanian home of the vampire count.

Now the Bridge Street establishment is being sold by leading business agents Christie and Co at offers over pounds595,000.

The hotel, which has 14 en-suite bedrooms, has been run by local couple Jim and Shona Mutch for three-and-a-half years. The pair are keen to sell up and retire.
