Councillors paved the way yesterday for a controversial revamp of the castle that inspired Bram Stoker's Dracula.
The proposal to turn the ruins of Slains Castle into 35 holiday homes has been delayed by a legal wrangle for nearly two years.
But yesterday, members of Aberdeenshire Council's Buchan area committee unanimously agreed to resolve a land row which has held back proceedings. Almost two years ago, the Edinburgh-based Slains Partnership won outline planning consent to redevelop the cliff-top landmark at Cruden Bay.
