Words of praise from legendary horror writer Bram Stoker have been unearthed at a north-east hotel.
The Dracula author jotted an uncharacteristically cheery note in the guest book of the Kilmarnock Arms, Cruden Bay, during a holiday in 1894.
The book was signed in August that year, while Stoker was researching European folklore and vampires for his ground-breaking novel. Legend has it that the inspiration for Dracula's Transylvanian fortress was Slains Castle, on cliffs on the edge of Cruden Bay.
