Today Thornton Wilder's 1938 play "Our Town" is something of a chestnut in American theater. But there was a time when the play was considered daring and even a little experimental. Instead of telling a single story, like most plays of the time, Wilder borrows a page from Sherwood Anderson's "Winesburg, Ohio," and presents a series of scenes of daily life in Grover's Corners, New Hampshire.
