Lichfield may celebrate the new millennium with wall plaques of Samuel Johnson quotations.

"Incredibly I have heard Johnson is quoted more than anybody else even if people don't know it is him they are quoting," said Bill Dunsmore, chairman of The Johnson Society.

"It is proposed for the Millennium to put plaques on various buildings in Lichfield each one of which will contain a body of Johnsonian quotations. I think it is an excellent idea."
