Samuel Johnson Martin and his brother, Johnson Samuel Martin - their dad liked the name Johnson -- wanted to see if mountaineering was in their blood.
Rather than testing the waters gingerly, the brothers from Mount Joy jumped right in last month, setting out to climb Ecuador's 19,300- foot Mt. Cotopaxi, the world's second-highest active volcano.
"The highest I'd been before was 14,000 feet, and that was riding a tram on Pikes Peak (in Colorado)," says John, 21, a meteorology major senior at Penn State.
