IN The Social Contract, Swiss philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau wrote: "Man is born free, yet everywhere he is in chains."
Profound, eh?
Though not accurate.
What he should have said was:
"Man is born free, yet everywhere he is in chain stores."
That's the real blight of life.
Blokes arrive in this world with the ability to do what the heck they want.
Scale mountains; voyage to obscure regions of the globe; rise triumphantly in their chosen career.
