We are a nation of laws and as such are bound together by what Thomas Hobbs, John Locke, and Jean Jacques Rousseau called the social contract. It is easy to become over emotional and commit impulsive acts, but calmer heads are needed to preserve the tenor of our social fabric.
The constitution was not written in bilge water it was written in the blood of men and women of all races creeds and religious persuasions. It is arguable in favor of some people, but it is also the best document defining freedom for the masses in the world.
