The University of Delaware issued the following news release:

With more than 130,000 living UD alumni, you never know where you will find UD's school colors flying. Recently, a UD banner featuring the familiar Fightin' Blue Hen flanked by the school's colors of blue and gold was raised in one of the world's most troubled spots by three UD alums stationed in Iraq.

Cpt. Ring Lardner, AG '02, of Milford, 1st Lt. Stephen Douglas, AS '02, of Bear, and Maj. James Benson, BE '90, of Alexandria, Va., hung the banner in a gymnasium in Baghdad.
