The City University of New York issued the following news release:
Two weeks after the curtain came up on June Moon in the fall of 1929, the curtain came crashing down on the Jazz Age and the Roaring 20s with the Stock Market Crash that ushered in the Great Depression. The play, by George S. Kaufman and Ring Lardner, is a satiric look at the music industry when it first became big business, and in a way foreshadowed the coming hard times.
