There's almost always something sad about an old bar going down. You fear confused regulars will wander about looking for new elbow space the same way they might search for a matching sock. And a bartender without an order is like a judge without a law.

But a kindred jukebox never stops playing.

It was Ring Lardner who wrote, "The family you come from isn't as important as the family you're going to have," and that's something to put in the scrapbook when Orphans offically gets orphaned on Sunday.
