guns when it comes to communism

The screenwriter Ring Lardner Jr. died late last year and the obituaries,
especially a three-quarter-page notice in The New York Times, gave him a
reverential send-off. It was noted that he had contributed to two
near-classic pictures, the first Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy film,
"Woman of the Year," and Robert Altman's "M*A*S*H."
