VAUXHALL chief Roland Dane has defended the team orders that denied Jason Plato a deserved Auto Trader BTCC victory at Thruxton.
Plato was instructed to pull over while leading the feature race to let French team-mate Yvan Muller go through and complete a winning double.
The sixth race of a 24-event season appeared somewhat early for team orders to be implemented especially when Plato was clearly quick enough to hold Muller at bay.
