Plato's assertion of gender equality in his book 'Republic' left several issues unanswered. Although he defended his proposal of equality of sexes, his arguments fell short for such distinctive recognition among his contemporaries and modern day intellectuals. One reason for this was Plato's failure in explaining comprehensively the implied and consequential effects of his unorthodox arguments regarding gender equality.
