PORTLAND, Ore. -- Dr. Robert B. Pamplin Jr. will receive the Captain Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. Award from the Civil War Round Tables of Massachusetts, the North Shore/Lynn Chapter the Greater Boston Chapter, and the Civil Ward Round Table of Central Massachusetts at a ceremony on Saturday, April 13. The award is in recognition of Pamplin's leadership in transforming an important 400-acre former battlefield site in Petersburg, Va., into Pamplin Historical Park and the National Museum of the Civil War Soldier.
