CORRECTION: Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. - not his father - is responsible for the following quote noted in George Tucker's history column in Sunday's Hampton Roads section: ``If American law were to be represented by a single figure, skeptic and worshipper alike would agree that the figure would be one alone, and that one, John Marshall.'' Correction ran in The Virginian-Pilot on Tuesday, January 23, 2001 on page A2.
