A funeral Mass for Frank A. Petta, 89, will be celebrated at 10 a.m Friday, March 7, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Elgin, with the Rev. Geoffrey Wirth officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St. (Route 31), Elgin, and from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass Friday, at the church. Born March 12, 1918, in New York, N.Y., the son of Victorio and Rosa Maria Petta, he passed away Monday, March 3, 2008, in his home. Frank was baptized at St. Anthony of Padua and received ...
