Apoll conducted for CBS News and The New York Times last week and released to reporters on Malta last night, indicates that American suspicions about Soviet intentions have abated recently.
The poll, conducted from Nov. 26 to 28, found that unfavorable impressions of the Soviet Union have declined substantially since last May. Then, 50 percent of those polled thought the Soviets were trying to dominate the world, a number that dropped to 34 percent in the latest poll.
