It's still two days away from the 2003 season's debut at Glimmerglass Opera, but already the Cooperstown company is looking at next year.
The opera will introduce "Boule de Suif" or "The Good Whore," a new American work by Stephen Hartke with text by Philip Littell. Based on the short story by Guy de Maupassant, it is the tale of a motley group fleeing an enemy advance during the Franco-Prussian War.
