2 A long time ago, the laws in some places said that black children and white children had to go to separate schools.

3 The laws also said that people had to sit in separate places on buses. Martin Luther King Jr. thought that those laws were unfair.

4 He made speeches to many people. He talked about ways to change the laws.

5 He marched with people. He Wanted to share his hopes and dreams.

6 He worked to teach people to get along. Soon, people changed the unfair laws.
