Yes, the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday means a day off from school and work (for many). It's also a good time to learn about the holiday and the man behind it.
As one speaker told a crowd at the Carrier Dome in 1994, "He didn't live and fight and die for social justice just so we could have a day off." (See question No. 15.)
