Nathan Hale, Martin Luther King, FDR, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Prudence Crandall. What do these American heroes and heroines tell us about our standards and ideals?

The role of heroism and its relationship to nationalism and human rights will be explored during a Feb. 24 and 25 conference organized by the University of Connecticut's History Department and the Antiquarian & Landmarks Society. The conference will be held at UConn's Storrs campus.
