The South Bay and the surrounding community salutes slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. beginning Saturday with a variety of concerts, parades and other forms of recognition.

There are more than 100 volunteer opportunities in the county for those who wish to honor King's legacy of activism and volunteerism.

More information about the volunteer opportunities on the 14th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service are available at www.mlkday.gov.
