Does it count if you listen to a book instead of read it? It's not one of those questions high on my list of philosophical dilemmas. (What would Kant have to say about the designated hitter? How would Aristotle explain the infield fly rule?)
But when someone says, "Have you read such-andsuch?" and you've listened to it for two weeks on the way to work, is it all right to say, "Just finished it yesterday at a red light at San Mateo and Menaul"?
