Inglewood Mayor Roosevelt Dorn told a crowd celebrating Martin Luther King
Jr. Day in the city that this holiday is a good time to "live the dream."
Numerous events were held around the Southland to commemorate the birthday
of the civil rights leader, who has slain in Memphis, Tenn., by an assassin
in 1968. Schools, government offices, banks and financial markets were
closed for the holiday.
