Nearly all of U.S. school children (97%) recognize the name Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. According to a new survey released today by the Martin
Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation, results of the
survey underscore the relevance and need for the national Memorial with
projected groundbreaking in October, 2003.
The survey, conducted by Washington, DC-based Widmeyer Communications,
focused on the awareness and understanding of Dr. King's role in history.
