Jack London of New Bedford, a retired justice of Bristol County District Court, died yesterday in Sippican Health Care Center in Marion. He was 83.

Judge London was born in New Bedford. He graduated from Providence College and Boston University Law School before serving in the Army during World War II.

He practiced law in New Bedford, where he was elected to the city council, and was an assistant district attorney in Bristol County before he was appointed a special justice of Bristol County District Court in 1972. After his mandatory retirement at the age of 70, he was a Superior Court ...
